Q: Anti-Aliasing and Star Wars Empire at War: Forces of Corruption
A: Anti-Aliasing is considered an advanced feature, which requires extra processing power and resources from your graphics card. If you experience low performance or other unanticipated results when this feature is enabled, we recommend that you set Anti-Aliasing to Off in the Video Options menu, and disable Anti-Aliasing in the Control Panel for your graphics card. You are most likely to experience undesired results with Anti-Aliasing enabled when using 32MB or 64 MB graphics cards.
-----------------------------------
Q: ATI Radeon 8500, 9000, and 9200
A: When playing Star Wars Empire at War: Forces of Corruption on a graphics card with one of these chipsets, you may experience the following issues:
Selecting Soft Shadows in the Advanced Video Options menu will not enable Soft Shadows.
You will be unable to set the Shader Detail slider to Max.
Selecting Heat Distortion toggle will not enable Heat Distortion. This occurs because Heat Distortion effects do not render when the Shader Detail slider is set below the max setting.
You will not see grass display on land environments at any position of the Environment Detail slider.
You may experience severe blurring and distortion after enabling certain FSAA settings. This occurs when you select a higher resolution in the game than the card can display at that setting. Choosing a lower resolution or FSAA setting corrects this issue.
-----------------------------------
Q: ATI Radeon Chipsets
A: When playing Star Wars Empire at War: Forces of Corruption on a graphics card with a Radeon chipset, you may experience the following issues:
The bottom portion of the game display may not be visible when the in-game resolution is set to 800x600. If this occurs, you may be using a non-DDC monitor. To correct this, you will need to manually override the in-game refresh rate using the “3D Refresh Rate Override†menu in the “ATI Catalyst Control Centerâ€.
The Gamma Slider may not function correctly after adjusting the FSAA level. When this occurs, the Gamma may return to default without the Gamma Slider moving.
-----------------------------------
Q: ATI Radeon X700 Pro
A: When playing Star Wars Empire at War: Forces of Corruption on a graphics card with this chipset, you may experience a noticeable drop in performance after setting the Textures slider to Maximum in Video Options. If this occurs, we recommend that you select a lower setting.
-----------------------------------
Q: Black Screen after Changing In-Game Resolutions
A: When selecting a video resolution in the Video Options menu, the screen may go black and display an ‘out of frequency message’ or the game may display incorrectly. This occurs when you select a resolution that your monitor does not support. If this occurs, wait for 20 seconds and Star Wars Empire at War: Forces of Corruption will return your Video Options to the previous settings. If the screen does not recover, we recommend that you start the game in Safe Mode by selecting the Star Wars Empire at War: Forces of Corruption (Safe Mode) shortcut in your Start menu. Safe Mode sets the game options to their lowest settings.
-----------------------------------
Q: Can I create Custom maps for Star Wars Empire at War Forces of Corruption? Where can I get the map editor?
A: There is a map editor for Star Wars Empire At War: Forces of Corruption available for download from Fileplanet at empireatwar.filefront.com/file/Forces_of_Corruption_Map_Editor;73719. Please note that LucasArts and Petroglyph are providing these tools and assets for your enjoyment; no end user support of any kind is provided or implied. Technical Support staff will not be able to offer assistance with these tools or assets, or in situations that may arise from use of new or modified assets generated with these tools. For more information regarding the use of this software please read the End User License Agreement.
-----------------------------------
Q: Can I use my saved games from Star Wars Empire at War regular edition with the Gold pack version, and vice versa?
A: No. Gold Pack save games are not compatible with the retail release and vice versa. There is no workaround.
-----------------------------------
Q: Crashing After Selecting 1280 x 960 or Higher Display Modes
A: The game may crash to the desktop or display an error message when you attempt to start a game after changing Video Resolution in the Video Options menu. This occurs if your monitor or its driver does not support the display setting you selected. If this occurs, we recommend that you start the game in Safe Mode by selecting the Star Wars Empire at War: Forces of Corruption (Safe Mode) shortcut in your Start menu. Safe Mode sets the game options to their lowest settings. You may need to select the correct driver for your monitor or set your monitor to Plug and Play to select higher resolutions.
-----------------------------------
Q: GameSpy Firewall Ports
A: When you play the game on a system that is behind a firewall or proxy, certain ports may need to be opened to connect to multiplayer games. Ports 3658, 3659, 6500 and 27900 may need to be opened so the GameSpy servers can see the game.
Please consult your network administrator or your router manufacturer for information on how to set up these ports. You should also install the latest firmware available for your router from the manufacturer.
For more information regarding the network ports used when playing on GameSpy hosted servers, please refer to the following webpage: www.gamespyarcade.com/support/firewalls.shtml
-----------------------------------
Q: Heat Distortion and Anti-Aliasing Issues
A: When playing Star Wars Empire at War: Forces of Corruption on a graphics card with a chipset that supports shader model 2.0, 3D models or the display inside the HUD may become blurry after you set the Video Resolution to 800x600 or 960x600 with Anti-Aliasing and Heat Distortion enabled in the Video Options menu. Disabling these features or selecting a higher Video Resolution corrects this issue.

Q: I am getting a message, "CDKEY Not Authorized" when I try to join a multiplayer game of Star Wars Empire at War: Forces of Corruption.
A: If you receive an error that your CD Key is not authorized when attempting to join a multiplayer game, please exit the game and try the following to correct this issue.
Open My Computer and navigate to the LecSetup folder inside the Forces of Corruption folder on your harddrive. The default install location is:
C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Empire at War Forces of Corruption\LecSetup
Double-click the CDKey.exe file and reenter your CD Key printed on the sticker on the back of your Battlefront CD Jewel case.
Please note that there are no letter L's or letter O's in any of the CD Keys, though a 1 (one) or 0 (zero) may look like a letter. Make sure you enter the appropriate number in such cases.
Also note that all letters contained in the CD Keys are lower case, so make sure your keyboard's Caps Lock is not turned on.
Now try joining a multiplayer game once more to see if the problem has been corrected. NOTE: If you purchased a used copy of the game, the CDKEY may have already been used by the previous owner. That is one of the difficulties with playing used online games that require a cd key. If the game is used and the initial owner has registered the game online, their name is tied to it. Most used game retailers that handle used pc games are supposed to inform the purchaser of this fact when selling these types of games and mention that they might not be able to use the game online.
-----------------------------------
Q: I am getting an exception error in Star Wars Empire at War on Windows Vista systems with 2GB or RAM or more.
A: We have tested and released an update to the game to correct this issue which occurs on Vista systems with 4GB RAM or higher. Please go to www.lucasarts.com/support/update/EAWFOC1_1.html and scroll down to the "RAM Fix". Please note that this update does not include any prior updates, so you will still need to make sure you have the 1.1 update installed as well.
-----------------------------------
Q: I cannot build the Eclipse.
A: The Eclipse cannot be built, it only exists as a unit in the very last mission of the story campaign. If you play as the Zann Consortium, you can take it over and use it for a while. The Empire cannot build the Eclipse by design.
-----------------------------------
Q: I cannot get tech level 5 when playing as the Rebels
A: This is an issue when using the tech level sliders that will be addressed in a forthcoming patch. In the meantime, if you leave the tech level on the default value (do not adjust the slider) it will work fine. The heroes will auto-spawn once you reach tech level 5, and the MC30 and B-Wing appear in a new steal technology list once you reach tech level 5.
