Another video from this very funny GC. I am enjoying it a lot because the difficulty level is good, hard, if I was winning all the battles, it would not be fun.
I told you how I would update the mod this week but obviously, you can see how I have had my hands fully occupy with the web site. However, I have could finish somethings and it is a bit more closer. Just I need improve a bit more a special code improving the attacks, it adds the random pirate attacks and a special enemy attack against some of your special structures. It does not add a lot more of powerful units, just I want launch and move some enemy units as some parts from your defenses.
The last additions are the improvement from the B-Wing S1 and S2, these two heavy bombers are spawned by other units as the MC80C.
Another two videos from this very funny GC. In the first (part 55) finally the AI attacks me at Tralus/Talus this map with a very powerful fleet and my smaller forces needed retreat even if I could use the Centerpoint station against some of its Super Star Destroyers. Now if you did not know it, the Centerpoint station fires as any other super laser and when it is destroyed, it disappears from the battle.
In the second video, nothing better than conquer some planets in the enemy hands if you want reduce the power from the AI. Because I was testing several things, the AI could build a large force. If not I had started attack it from the begining and the amount of attacks had been different.
I have updated the mod again. The changes in units as Allegiance SD improved are changes in the models which they can prevent crashes to desktop. It is curious but with each nvidia graphics card update or windows 10 update, somethings work different. By example, in the last Nvidia drivers, there is a option named low lactency mode, I recomend you set it at off because in on or ultra, the game goes worse and even it can crash.
Other tip, I have increased the damage from the ground AA weapons to the fighters/bombers but it needs testing and perhaps it continues being low.
After this update, I want continue making some more improves and adding some special new units. But there is a big older change which I want improve. It is the ship movement. With big ships, it is good. But with smaller ships than a heavy battlecruiser, it is bad, some of them are not very big and they have very long turns and thousands of problems moving, even I believe how these problems add lag to the space battles. From my point of view, all these smaller ships should add a movement more as in the older versions of the mod and only the bigger units should add these long turns.

As I said before, tomorrow, I will upload a new version with some small changes and tweaks. Small but useful. A improve avoiding the MPTLs from pursue as a stupid the enemies, now you can build the variants from the MC40, MC60 and MC80C, there are several. Even I found a problem in the Frigate Shipyard code. Ah and the change in the movement from all the units smaller than a Heavy Battlecruiser, I was tired from see my MC80C giving stupid turns or the Profundity, all these units had a not fun movement and even I am sure how it made lag playing.

Delays and more delays. It goes to be the last time that I go to give a exact day for a update. Better to say that I go to update the mod soon again. The delay, a small delay is because I saw how the problem in the Vladet space map continues and the defense forces start the battle out the map in the planet position, it is very strange and very probably I go to make a complete new space map.
I added all the variants from the MC40/MC60/MC80 in galactic conquest. Some of them have different weapons or fighter squadrons.
The other big change was the movement but I continue being unhappy with this and I will be making test and edits for many time, it is a matter from test everything. I am happy with the big ships but the smaller if they add slower turns, they have several problems with moving and battles are a bit bad, even with additional lag. However, the worse is when a ship makes a tik where it turns very fast and returns to the original position or it rotates 180º in a second, it is very incomode. Nah, it goes to need more work and analysis.
About more things, yesterday, I tried a program which I have used before changing the graphics, it is Reshade reshade.me/ , the older versions from this program were too complex but the last is very perfect and it lets you configurate a different, even better look from the game with some effects which you can not add from other way. Because Nvidia added a feature in the Geforce Experience, the freestyle mode but it does not work with all the games. By this reason, reshade is the unique option.
However, as many things, it needs testing because there are many effects which you can add to the game and not all are good, some of them can add bad image problems. But it is better than nothing. I will show you later some videos about it.
Another addition/improve. I have improved several death animations from starships. By the moment all Rebels. It can be considered a work in progress because there are many models in the mod. At the same time, following some external advice, I have replaced some colors from particle explosions. Red or purple colors are mostly out and the yellow or orange from fire are more usual with some blue/green/white/grey.

About Mon Calamari and turrets, I like them. It will take a lot of time the addition from more in the different ships but it is good. In ships as the MC90 from the previous image, all the main weapons, turbolasers and ion guns are turrets with movement. Even it has turrets in the bottom. It is not the first unit with turrets in the bottom but it is different comparted to the ISD by example.
More Mon Cal with turrets, this is one of the the MC60. Other MC made today with turrets is the MC40. But the MC60 is more impressive by the amount of turrets, it has not more weapons than before but from my point of view, now it looks better.
The idea comes from this made by Fractalsponge. Probably I can improve the model from turrets more with time. But by the moment the key is get all the models with customized turrets and next continue improving these things.
For the record, I like a lot this forum and how things look inside it.
Few days ago, more test with reshade.me/ , clearly the tool improve graphics but it takes some of time improve things for your eyes. Specially good is the effect named Adaptive Sharpen because it cleans graphics a lot. But I considerer bad some effects as the HDR or Technicolor2 because they add too changes in colors and my screen is customized for my eyes. By this reason, I have made many test with and without them.
After this video, I noted a big problem, it was how some of these effects increase gamma, I needed some time playing for to discover it and how I was dizzy after to play.
At this video, you will note how I have started to add turrets with movement in the Mon Calamari Cruisers. Another big change is the ship movement where I increased the bank turn angle from several ships. It lets them turn slower in a small amount of space without create a stupid and long turn. You can watch all the progress in the forum from my site.
The work with the turrets in Mon Calamari goes well but slow, nothing new, there are many. But I have added bigger differences in the variants of these ships.
In this moment, I have made the MC90 Brown and Blue, all the MC40, the MC80a MKI and MKII, the MC80 MKI and MKII (blue version) and I am thinking continue with another type of MC80, there are many of these. Probably I will upload these things in the mod because I do not go to wait to the finish of all the Mon Cal and probably other ships for a release, this type of work easily can take one or two months.
I have made an improve in the turrets from the Mon Cal. Instead from to use turrets in a similar color as the ship, I want use turrets in a different color which I can share easily between ships saving a lot of code. In a mod like this with a huge amount of units, share things between then is the unique good way. Anyway, these turrets look better and you will see them easily in the game.
Usually I had continued adding the turrets in the MC cruisers from smaller to bigger. But......well, I needed fix some firing problems from the MC112 and I did not want edit the model two times. By this reason, I have added turrets to it and main guns for the blast ability.
I am adding a new update now. It adds all the previously showed content, a lot of fixes and improves, always there are things to be improved. Even I have tweaked a bit the AI because perhaps it had too many resources and by this reason, it attacks a lot increasing the movements in galaxy and creating additional lag. However, it is a non-tested feature and it can be bad. Perhaps it reduces too much their attacks. It goes to need more play and test.

About reshade, I have been making more test, this time I disabled some of the the effects added in the begining of the test from reshade because they add more light and they remove some effects from ground and space maps.
